Taking inspiration from the light and colours of the East Anglian coast Tors hand dyes fabrics to obtain the subtle and natural colours needed for the backgound. Small pieces of fabric are gradually layered on to the base fabric to recreate the beautiful colours of the marshlands, saltings or seascapes. She then machine embroiders the detail and texture into this background. Finally she hand stitches the foreground to capture the gentle movement of the grasses.
