Woodland moss bag with murano glass bead

Tors Duce is a textile artist who expresses her inspirations through a diverse variety of techniques and mediums. She is able to convey her artistic ideas using machine and hand sewing to mix colours and add texture .

Her pictures reflect the subtle colours, light and textures of the saltings, marshlands and sea walls of East Anglian Coast and are almost ‘painted’ with the thread.

Tors designs and handcrafts special handbags. For each bag she makes a one-off fabric and then embroiders thousands of stitches. It is then fashioned into its unique shape and finshed by hand with tiny beads.

In a similar fashion Tors creates jewellery using both machine and hand embroidery so each piece is totally individual.

Tors uses a unique method to create her feather light gossamer scarves. Many different wools, yarns and threads are layed out in a web with small pieces of fabric and silk before the whole scarf is machine embroidered. In this way she is able to produce scarves with exceptional colours and textures.

Tors also makes beautiful covered books and diaries.
